Providing the website
The website is hosted by Hostinger. When you access it, data including your IP address, the requested address, time of access and technical browser information are processed to deliver content to your device and detect errors or attacks.
This is based on our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Images are served with the website and fonts from your device are used. We have not integrated our own analytics or advertising services.
Information about processing by our hosting provider is available in the Hostinger privacy policy ↗. This also includes information about recipients and international data transfers.
Contact and enquiries
When you contact us, we process your contact details and the travel or order preferences you share. Pre-contractual enquiries and performance of a contract are based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; general correspondence is based on our legitimate interest in responding under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The forms prepare your message solely in your browser. Pressing the button passes it to your email application. The website does not send these details to an enquiry server of its own. We receive them only when you send the email yourself. Your email provider also participates in transmission. You may alternatively enquire by phone or direct email.
Required fields are needed to handle your enquiry meaningfully; there is no legal obligation to use the form. Please do not send confidential documents with an initial enquiry. If further documents are needed, we will agree a transmission method with you separately.
Recipients and retention
Incoming enquiries are accessible to the people at BalticTravel responsible for handling them and the communication providers used for that purpose. Which other service providers need data for a particular trip depends on your booking; you will receive the relevant information during the booking process.
Enquiries are retained for as long as necessary to handle them. Where a contract or statutory record-keeping obligation applies, retention depends on the type of record and the applicable legal periods. Data are then deleted unless another lawful reason for retention exists. Hosting providers' technical logs are subject to their operating and retention rules.
Google Maps – only after you activate it
On the accommodation and contact pages, you can activate a map provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. No connection to Google is made for the map before activation. Activating it allows the map to be displayed and the necessary IP and browser data to be transmitted to Google. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and link data with a signed-in Google account; transfers to the USA are also possible.
The basis is your voluntary consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where information is stored on or read from your device, section 25(1) of the German TDDDG. Consent is not stored permanently. You can remove the map using “Deactivate map · withdraw consent” or leave the page. This stops further loading of the map; processing already carried out lawfully remains unaffected. You can delete cookies set by Google in your browser.
The rest of the website can be used without activating the map. The address and an external map link remain available. Further information: Google privacy policy ↗.
WhatsApp and other external links
WhatsApp is included solely as a link. You reach that provider only when you open the link. You can always contact us by phone or email instead. Processing on linked pages is governed by the respective provider's policies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect. Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
Please contact schimpke@baltictravel.de. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you live or work or where the alleged infringement occurred. For Hamburg: Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information ↗, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg.
